Between now and June 30, 2017, the University of South Florida St. Petersburg (USFSP) will be participating in the USF System-wide, USF: UNSTOPPABLE Faculty and Staff campaign. Serving as Co-Chairs for the USFSP campaign are Dr. Debbie Sinclair and USFSP Chief of Police, David Hendry. The campaign representative for the College of Education is our colleague, Dr. Charlie Vanover.
The mission of the Faculty and Staff campaign is to provide each of us an opportunity to become engaged in support of our students, fellow faculty and staff, and programs offered by the University. This current year, thanks in large part to past campaigns, students enrolled in the College of Education received more than $21,000 in scholarships. College of Education students also had an opportunity to apply for more than $100,000 from the general scholarship fund. These scholarships truly make a difference.
The goal of this year's campaign for the College is to exceed a participation rate of 80%. Please note that this is a participation goal, not a monetary goal. We need your contributions, and while the amount you give is important, your donation must be affordable and comfortable for you. Any amount you give will qualify you as a participant and be counted toward our goal of 80%. We achieved 80% participation in 2016, and I'm confident we can do it again. Ideally, I'd like to see us achieve 100% which would send a highly positive message to our students and other members of the University community that we care very much about our College.
All of the USF Foundation funds related to College of Education may be accessed online and chosen for donation, but in my judgment the following funds should be our focus. Two of the funds support students and programs across our College and one supports a special program for students with disabilities.
PE0004 USFSP College of Education Fund for Excellence. This fund permits very flexible spending and supports a wide range of activities in the College.
PE0007 USFSP College of Education Scholarship Fund. This fund is College-wide and supports students regardless of their program of study.
PE 6002 USFSP H. William Heller Scholarship in Special Education
I will very much appreciate your participation in the campaign.
