Dear IT Staff,
Welcome to the 2018/2019 Faculty & Staff Campaign. Supporting USF and its mission is essential to the growth of the economic base. We often believe that if we are only able to contribute in small amounts that it doesn’t matter. However, that is not that case, each contribution does matter, no matter how large or small.
This year in addition to the 3 funds that are sponsored by IT and the hundreds of other funds available at USF, you have the option to donate to USF’s new HerdFunder campaigns. These work like most small funding opportunities, these needs are relatively small in nature and have a short time frame for collecting funds. One of the current campaigns is to sponsor doctors going to Puerto Rico from USF to help with the aftermath of hurricane Maria. Another campaign, helps students who are facing financial burdens and helps them through so they can complete their education. IT has three sponsored funds that are also available to contribute to. They are:
•310006 Michael Hudson – This fund is named after one of the former CIO’s from USF Health IS.
Here is the criteria:
To make awards to administrative or staff employees serving USF Health in pursuit of a USF degree. Awards for job-related certification or other professional development can be at USF or elsewhere. Scholarship criteria for USF: full or part-time students, at all academic levels, pursuing all majors, in all colleges, on the Tampa campus. Employees will submit an application for review by a selection committee. In order to grow the balance of the fund, awards may or may not be made in any given year at the discretion of the Sr. Vice President USF Health or their designee.
•190001 – IT Operating Fund – This fund is used to offset operating expenses that typically are not covered by USF funding methods.
•190002 – IT Scholarship Fund – We are presently looking at the scope of this fund and the criteria for awards.

Your contribution helps USF to continue to deliver top-notch education, outstanding research, and first rate services to our students, faculty and staff. Additionally, this campaign provides you the opportunity to contribute directly to a cause of your own choosing, providing many departments, programs, and organizations at USF with the financial support necessary to fulfill their mission. IT is an integral part to partnering in the various strategic goals for USF. Please help show our support by considering a contribution this year. Contributions can be one time or recurring through payroll deduction. These contributions are also tax deductible.
This year’s campaign theme is USFOPOLY. There are 4 divisions of teams. IT is the green team and we are competing against Business & Finance; College of Education; College of Engineering; College of Public Health; Research & Innovation; and USF Sarasota-Manatee. We would like to win this year’s challenges and to do that we need your help!
There will be monthly challenges and many opportunities between now and the end of March. The IT Committee will be planning many activities and providing many opportunities for you to help us with our participation levels. We would like to see everyone participate in some manner. Even a $1 donation counts toward our participation goal.
